Yo ! I'm back and this blog is still not pronounce dead yet. Its exam next week, and I have pretty much to catch up ! Most of the projects are due now and i'm now rushing through my projects now !

One Month Almost Passed !

Yea its holiday now. Anime, Gaming Research, Gaming and Outing is what I do during this period. Nothing much.

Four Major Finally is over !!

Finally, all these major projects have cleared.. Now ahead me, are three papers. A Personal Financial Planning Quiz, Network Server Management Exam and Maths Exam ! However, projects submission are crap as most of them are last minute rush ! Due to projects, I don't even have the time to study for my papers. Just hope that all these are over.

But I don't feel happy at all. =( Reason being is because of the heavy workload, deadlines of Report Writing's report and MAD (Mobile Applications Development)'s project is due on coming Tuesday !

Firstly, report writing is really very boring.. I still yet to gather all the resources and materials of the content. How to write like that...

Secondly, MAD is really driving me MAD !! The codes are just being annoying to me, make me have no mood to do anything to resolve it. My lecturer said b4 that he would help us during our lesson (working on project period). Instead, what he always tell us is, "search for help file", the famous "CTRL-SPACE" or say that he is programming Visual Basic and suddenly forgot about J2ME. It is simply WTF. Therefore I was thinking... Since he treat us like that, then isn't we got the right to tell him that we refer to websites and library books while we are being interviewed by him when he ask us tough questions?

Still got many bugs !! Decided to make a simple interface. Damn !

Jurong Point

Rushed to grab my usual Toto ticket, but too bad, time's up and I couldn't buy it on time. My S$3M chance has gone.

After that, went to Jurong Point with my classmate, as he need to get a present for his friend. I had not been there for months and its totally a brand new place for me. After the extension, I would say that it was really big and I also saw many vacant apartments right on top of the shopping center.

So my friend had finally decided to get his present at some gift shop, and I requested to visit the DVD/CD shop to look around for Bruce Lee movies. In the end, I found the series of Bruce Lee and did not think twice and got it. Went home to watch a few episodes before I Zzzz.

After all these weeks, there are many assignments and projects.. I can hardly breathe. School activities and personal stuffs had been squeezing my time.. Anyway, just to enter something into my blog so as not to make "dead"..

If I really have the time, and I really mean "free time".. I will like to try this dish out at Manhatten Market (should be the correct spelling). Just happened to saw this picture from somebody's post. I always tried Fish & Cos, and always heard from other people that Manhatten is better than Fish & Cos. Well, I don't usually give a biased comment, so wait till I try this out before I can compare and judge it xD

WOW ! Bus 16 from Bedok To My House !

As usual, every wednesday I would be going to Bedok Swimming Complex to swim with my friend. After having our lunch, I walked to Bedok Bus Interchange to get on bus 16 to go home. When I entered the bus, I found that the interior of the bus is Sooo... different. I immediately walk all the way to the back and look around. Everyone was looking around too. LOL ! The seats were cool and comfortable ! Hope to get on this bus every morning on my way to school =D

So Many Mind-Whacking Projects and Stuffs!!

This coming week will be a crucial week as there will be Flash Practical Test and Maths Quiz. Other than these, there will be also a technical presentation on Report Writing module. Both projects Flash Movie and a design of a game for Mobile Application Development is to be planned by this week. =(

I was actually waiting for dinner yesterday when I reached home. Surf net for a while and feel that my head is burning, so took a nap at 6pm. But when I woke up, its already 7am in the morning.. I'm feeling damn hungry now =(

Its already 5.25am and I still not asleep. Really couldn't sleep, as I had already used to sleeping at 7am everyday during my holidays. Missed those days man ! However, got to prepare for class later at 8am. Its going to be a long day till 5pm, though its my first day of school after my holidays. Got to endure my way through and readjust my sleeping time. Luckily, tuesday class is 10am. Go Go Go !

Bluetooth 3.0 Standard Launches This Month

The Bluetooth SIG has approved its 3.0 spec with a 21 April launch date: I've written before about Bluetooth 3.0, which pairs the 3 Mbps low-power frequency hopping radio system of 2.1+EDR with high-speed transfers via 802.11 standards. The idea is that a properly integrated Bluetooth 3.0 system will have a bulk-transfer mode that two devices can swap into. (Note that the SIG is referencing 802.11, the generic standard, as it doesn't have a specific program in place with the Wi-Fi Alliance--yet?--for cross-certifiation.)

For instance, if you had one of those ubiquitous BlackBerry or iPhone smartphones with Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi inside, you could start a sync session with your PC. For normal calendar data and other matter, the sync would use the Bluetooth radio system. To sync a large music or video file, the handset's BT gear would talk with the computer's, agree to switch to 802.11, and then make the bulk transfer. At the end, communication would return to the other radio.
This mode works in a quasi ad-hoc fashion, without requiring that a device join a Wi-Fi network, which is part of why the 802.11 label is being used. With the collapse of UWB as a near-term generic option for personal area networking (PAN)--it may wind up being important, but it's not right now--802.11 standards will likely morph into WLAN/PAN systems. Intel has been working on this for a while, disclosing its Cliffside project a year ago as part of a larger effort to rethink mobile device functions.

Bluetooth 3.0 will get its formal unveiling later this month along with information about which chipmakers have products ready to sample. Because the SIG is a practical group, standards aren't released until there are multiple vendors with interoperable prototype chips and hardware.

Value of my Mobile Phone

Prices of technology products are always dropping. I just gave a real example. I bought my 128MB Sandisk Flash Drive for S$48 in the year 2004. But 5 years later, on the recent IT show, a 8GB Sandisk Flash Drive costs only S$26 !!

Under the category of the three Mobile Service Providers, my mobile phone, Nokia N95 8GB falls under Category A which is valued at S$400. I bought and recontract my mobile phone last year at S$698. Just recently, my contract had ended and I wanted to recontract and get a new phone. I decided to trade in, so i went to a Starhub shop and ask them whether I could trade in at S$400? After checking, they quote me S$270 for it. At that time, I was quite pissed off, i said how come so low, as my phone is in good working order. Then he said, market price now is S$340 for a new N95 8GB trade in, furthermore, my casing is quite bad, so reduce S$70 to S$270. Thats simply crazy, so i don't want to trade in my phone anymore. I rather use till it spolit. =(

Red Meat

People who eat more red or processed meat have a higher risk of death from all causes including cancer, while a higher consumption of white meat reduces such risks, a decade-long US study released Monday found.
The joint study begun in 1995 by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and seniors group AARP followed more than half a million men and women between age 50 and 71, who filled out a food frequency questionnaire estimating their intake of red and processed meats as well as white meats such as pork, chicken and turkey.
Over the study period, 47,976 men and 23,276 women died. The one fifth of men and women who ate the most red meat -- a median of 62.5 grams per 1,000 calories per day -- had a higher mortality rate than the one fifth who consumed the least -- 9.8 grams per thousand calories, according to the report.A similar rate held true for consumers of processed meat.
Comparatively, the top fifth of white meat consumers had a slightly lower risk for death than those who ate the least white meat."For overall mortality, 11 percent of deaths in men and 16 percent of deaths in women could be prevented if people decreased their red meat consumption to the level of intake in the first quintile," wrote the authors led by Rashmi Sinha of NIH's National Cancer Institute."
The impact on cardiovascular disease mortality was an 11 percent decrease in men and a 21 percent decrease in women if the red meat consumption was decreased to the amount consumed by individuals in the first quintile."Cancer-causing compounds are know to form during high-temperature cooking of meat, the report stated, and meat is a major source of saturated fat, which has been linked to certain cancers.Lower meat consumption has been linked to reductions in risk factors for heart disease, including lower cholesterol levels and blood pressure."
These results complement the recommendations by the American Institute for Cancer Research and the World Cancer Research Fund to reduce red and processed meat intake to decrease cancer incidence," the authors wrote.

Singapore Poly Results Were Out Yesterday !!

Didn't do well and GPA is going down ! As expected, Maths 1B i got a D+. Two Reasons. Firstly, its myself to blame for having last minute study, didn't really listen and understand what the lecturer is saying. Second reason, i got a crappy lecturer that assume maths is easy for everyone.

Business Concept - My Business, My Views !

Currently doing some crazy things exactly the same concept as the above scenario. Nothing
much, but I do not agree with things like leaders following 100% from people. Thats simply not
leaders, but rather some workers following instructions.

I believe being a sucessful leader, is to have its own ideas, LISTEN but NOT FOLLOW people's
ideas. With the previous statement, I'm talking about learning from the best practices of
business.

Is the above model familiar? I'm not challenging against someone's system. However, I do agree
to an extend, but if doing business is being condemn by 1% of the population, there is no point.
What will the people in the HOT category thinks? Other than COLD, WARM & HOT, what do you think about the forth one? Explode? Irreversible? FYI, Irreversible means : Incapable of being reversed or turned about or back. I do not want that to happen. Friends I made, my relatives, I do not want to lose friends and being despised by relatives.. There is just too many flaws in the current system. Its simply not right for me.

P.S. I will get pissed off by people who think that they could brainwash me by "SPAMING". I won't make u feel bad, I will simply ignore it, because I treated you as a friend and respect that friendship. Don't spolit it. I already condemn a friend that of four years friendship with me.

Gang Robbers in JB strikes again (as usual)

Its just not safe to go in JB even just a meter away from the customs. My friends always ask me to go in, but i decline them. Its not that I'm a coward, but its really too dangerous to go in just to have a good meal or something. Totally not worth it. I rather spend more within the island to have an enjoyable and worry-free life. For my friends who like to go there, please be careful and always stay alert and know how to handle it in a safe way when encountered.

Bad Economy

I really wondered whether will Singapore's Economy will be better or not, because things have been increasing and people were getting retrenched. Jobs are getting lesser and salary cut everywhere.

Though I am still a student, I was worrying whether I will be able to find a temporary job during my holiday. Everyone needs CASH. Money is definitely involved everywhere, but what can we do? Save, stay at home and eat. To most of the people I know, they often think that I'm a practical person, but I'm forced to be ! No choice. But I had finally learned to use the *title well when necessary.

At times like this, times are bad, living cost went up, jobs are not enough and competitive, and people requirements are demanding more.

Study is important, but no matter how much effort you put in, life is still difficult. People demand and expect more. As a result, became jobless and useless. Its a common life cycle.

Choice Of Study

After considering various factors, I had decided to put my choice of study as Web Technology & Services. At the mean time, better prepare for the coming Exams !

Second Year Choice of Study

It had finally come to a time where I have to determine which specialisation for my next two years of study. Two of them is :-

- Broadband and Security Services
- Web Technology and Services

To a more realistic approach, I am going to select Broadband and Security Services as my choice, as it will be more relevant to my coming job. Another concern will be that I will miss all my friends in my class. More than half of my coursemates are selecting Web Technology and Services for their selection. Still deciding. . . Still got up to 4 Feb 09 to decide till then. . . =(
